Send a registered letter online

Write the letter here, add your attachments and choose a registered product for Germany. We print, fold, frank and hand it to the postal service. Germany has the drop-in and handover options. The server quotes the price for your typeset letter before you pay.

Subject line

The line above the body of the letter. It is printed inside, not on the envelope.

Sender

Your address. It goes in the letter and on the envelope, so a reply can reach you.

Registered letters are printed and handed over in Germany. Your country is included in the return address so the letter can find its way back to you if it cannot be delivered.

Recipient

Who the letter goes to. Without a name, street and city the post cannot deliver it.

The letter

What you write here is printed exactly like this. Salutation and sign-off included.

Attachments

PDF and PNG, printed behind the letter. They do not replace the letter, they follow it.

Write the subject, the text and both addresses first. Then you can add attachments.

01How it works

Three steps, start to finish

No account, no sign-up, no software. The whole thing is at the top of this page.

  • 01

    Write the letter

Type the subject line and the text. Anything that goes with it you attach as PDF or PNG; it is printed behind the letter.

  • 02

    Fill in recipient and sender

Enter both addresses and choose Germany as the destination. The selector then shows the drop-in and handover products with the current server quote.

  • 03

    Pay, we do the rest

Pay. We print, fold, frank and hand the letter to the postal service. You get an email as soon as it is on its way.

02Prices

What a registered letter costs

Every destination, every delivery type offered there, black and white and in colour. The numbers come from the same source as the checkout, not from a price list in the copy.

The full price list cannot be reached right now. The desk above still names the price for your letter as soon as the destination and the page count are set: it comes from the same source as the checkout.

05Questions

Common questions

What does a registered letter cost?

The price depends on the destination, on the page count and on whether you print in black and white or in colour. The table on this page names every destination with the delivery types it offers and their price. The price for your exact letter appears at the desk above as soon as the recipient and the text are there, and it is the same amount the checkout charges. There is no subscription and no base fee.

What is a registered letter worth legally?

A registered letter makes the handover traceable through its tracking number and, depending on the product, documents a mailbox drop or handover against a signature. It does not prove what was inside the envelope, and it guarantees neither receipt nor the legal effect of the content. In court it is an indication, not proof of the content. Whether a registered letter, a courier or a lawyer is the right instrument depends on the deadline, the recipient and the area of law.

Can I use this to end my employment contract or my tenancy?

No. German law requires written form for terminating an employment contract and for terminating a tenancy, and written form means your own handwritten signature on the original the recipient receives. We print your text, so the letter carries no handwritten signature and a termination sent this way would be void. For those two cases, print the letter yourself, sign it by hand and post it yourself. Objections, withdrawals, payment reminders and most other contracts are not subject to this requirement.

Can I track the letter?

Yes. Every registered letter carries a tracking number. You get it by email as soon as the letter has been handed to the postal service, together with the tracking link and handover timestamp. We do not issue a carrier-issued proof-of-posting PDF. A plain standard letter has no tracking number; there you only see when we handed it over.

When is my letter printed and handed over?

Letters paid for on a working day before the daily cut-off go into print the next working day and are handed to the postal service the same day. After that the delivery times of the carrier apply. A letter paid for at the weekend starts on Monday.

What do my attachments look like in the letter?

Attachments are printed behind the body of the letter, in the order you add them. A PDF keeps its pages, a PNG is placed on one A4 page and is only ever scaled down, never up. The letter itself always keeps our layout: sender and recipient sit where the envelope window shows them. An uploaded file therefore never replaces the letter, it follows it.

What happens to my data?

To send the letter we need the text, both addresses and your payment details. Payment runs through Stripe, we never see your card details. The draft and the typeset PDF are deleted if you do not buy them. What we store, for how long and why is in the privacy policy.

Where can you send to?

FrankKi currently offers registered letters only within Germany. The DE server catalog prices the two available options, drop-in and handover. For other destinations you can use the plain-letter page.
